I received a medical discharge from the Navy in April of 1994. I
started my career at Great Lakes on 29AUG78 Co. 221. After graduation I
reported to NTC Great lakes to attend BT"A" school. Upon graduation I
reported to Uss Rogers (DD-876) homeport Portland, Ore. We steamed up
and down the west coast of North America periodically until she was
decommisioned in March '81. I was then ordered to Uss Vogelgesang
(DD-862) homeported in Newport R.I. After one short year she too was
decommed and I went to Uss Nashville (LPD-13) from '82-'84. Then on to
Sima Mayport,Fla from '84-'86. Uss Tattnall (DDG-19) was next. I got out
in Dec of '86. I reenlisted in Nov. '89 and went to Uss Canopus (AS-34)
homeported in Kings Bay, Ga.('90-'92). My final duty station was Uss
Shreveport (LPD-12) '92-'94 homeported, as was the Nashville, in
Norfolk.
I now work for Solutia Inc.(formerly Monsanto Chemicals) as a class
"A" millwright. I was married back in July'99 to Christeen, a beautiful
and loving woman who showed me that 18 years after a nasty divorce I
could indeed be happy in marriage.
