Enlisted 1-22-62, one year shore duty at the Small Craft
Facility at the Naval Academy. Served the remainder of my time aboard the
USS Chukawan AO-100, separated 8-13-65 Honorably Discharged 1-22-68. If
I had not been allowed to go ashore, I'm sure I would have come out a Fleet
Admiral instead of a Seaman Apprentice.
