Boot Camp at Great Lakes (Company 530)
MM and BP&E school at Great Lakes
USS Valley Forge, LPH-8. 1 WesPAC tour in 1967-68: A CH-46
crashed on forward Flight Deck during ops, killing about 30
sailors and marines.
Transferred to USS Thomaston, LSD-28 1968-70. Finished active
duty on her.
If any of the guys I ran with on the "Valley" or the "Tommy"
still have a functioning liver (we put away the hootch), I'd love
to hear from you.
