Joined us navy on 17 birthday July 8 1956. went through boot camp
at USNTC San Diego CA Assigned USS Grady DE 445 after boot camp training
reserves on 2 week cruises. Ship had one third crew and 2 third reserves.
Ship was decommissioned late 1957. I was mm in forward engine room
as throttle man. Transferred to uss george de 697 training reserve still
decommission in late 1958.both ships went through u.t.e.(underway training
exerise at fleet sonar school in san Diego CA. Honorable discharge
in dec.(hardship)after death in faimly.some guys i remember leroy bostic,fuzzy
foster,bob haun.pappas,j.cook,warren caswell(drummer)co j.j.hafner otis
floyd (H)harris from Tucson, AZ. Would like to hear from some of the guys
