I am a disabled Veteran 130%. I have been trying to avoid the VA as of late, but I have to go in every Thursday. I am a Computer nerd, I play guitar. I listen to Classic Rock. I also try to keep up on world events and let the Navy know I am available if needed. I am a Life Member of the DAV, AmVets, American Legion. I am a member of the Cold War Veterans Assoc, NIP, NCVA, MOPH, and VFW. I was wounded during Black Ops while stationed at Keflavik in 1979 by a sniper who disembarked from an Echo Class submarine. The records were destroyed so I am unable to prove my wound as the witnesses are in hiding. I was also hit by a car while I was on a motorcycle. I sustained a TBI, road burns, coma, and other damage that ended my Navy Career as an CTT NEC 9145. I am Divorced and staying at a Hotel. Trying to get a life re-started either with my Family back in New England or my Close Friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. In May of 2015 I had to have my rt knee repaired by a non-VA surgeon as the Navy and VA wouldn't do it. My knee now works with no problems for over a year-I sustained the injury on the job at 341 Div NSGA Edzell. March 1st 2016 I went to a Non-VA Hospital in San Francisco. I had my spleen and 3/5ths of my pancreas removed, part of my stomach and about 1/4 of my rt kidney were removed, also 4 masses were removed- 1 being cancerous and was located on my rt kidney. I had many scans done before this surgery and informed the VA, they did nothing. I was informed by the surgeon and his staff, that I might have lived 6 more months if the surgery wasn't performed. Yea, not a big fan of the VA right now. I was exposed to asbestos in and out of the Navy, but not sure if that was the cause. Trying to get my BG under control with help from a non VA clinic, now you know where my money goes: Health insurance payments! I hope 2017 and the future is better for all of us....
