I served aboard the U.S.S.Newman K. Perry DD883 from May 1969 through December 1972. During to 1969 Med cruis I on the Deck force. During tis time I was in charge of the paint locker and the Bos'ns locker. I was also one of the poor souls who had to go into the water to retrieve whatever was left of a plane that went down. Upon return to Newport, I was transfered to the Asroc Gang, where I stayed until I got out in 1972.
