TOMSEN, Laura Lynn "Dolly"
http://www.navetsusa.com/members/ltomsen.html
Of Tonawanda, NY, born August 28, 1977. Died April 20, 2018, from complications
after surgery. Survived by her parents, Timothy Y. and Linda (Shaffer)
Tomsen; a brother, Timothy J. Tomsen; a beloved cat, Odo; her aunts, Bonnie
Lemke, Connie (Fred) Robinson, Barbara (Bill) Jakobi, Margot Tomsen, Peter
(Kim) Tomsen, Ann Tomsen, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her
grandparents, Justus and Margaret Tomsen and Gerald and Mary Shaffer, and
her uncles, Jim Tomsen, Jon Tomsen, and Roger Lemke. Laura loved her family
and remembered each of them by calling on their birthdays and singing Happy
Birthday. If she met you once and you told her your birthday, she would
never forget it. She also had loving nicknames for her favorite people.
She loved going on the WNY Paranormal Society's outings and to Bandits'
and Sabres' games. She was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan though, much to
her Dad's consternation. She loved country music and went to many concerts
in the area. Laura was an upbeat positive person who would always see the
bright side of things. Laura was a certified Nursing Assistant and worked
at the Buffalo Veterans Hospital. She was a US Navy Veteran. A Memorial
Service to celebrate Laura's life will be held at the Church of the Nativity,
United Church of Christ, 1530 N. Colvin Blvd., on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suicide Prevention
at Crisis Services Foundation, which was very dear to Laura's heart. Please

Laura Lynn Tomsen
After high school graduation, Laura Lynn Tomsen attended Niagara
County Community college for 2 years. She worked at various jobs
before deciding that she needed more training/education in order to have
a rewarding career. Learning about the education benefits offered by the
Navy, she decided, in August 00, to enlist. Setbacks and delays
didn't deter her from her goal, and on January 3, 2001 she enlisted at
the Navy Recruiting District Buffalo. Laura is the daughter of Tim and
Linda Tomsen, North Tonawanda, NY
