Joined as Hospitalman Recruit in 1958 and went to boot camp and Basic Hospital Corps "A" School in San Diego, CA. Served with MCB FIVE and  Seabee Team 0511 in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. Promoted to HMC while attending ADCOP in Palomar College. Commissioned as Ensign in the Health Care Administration  Section of the Medical Service Corps in 1971. Graduated from George Washington University with BS in 1974 while attending Naval School of Health Care Administration  in Bethesda, MD. Retired in 1982.
