I enlisted in 1955, did my boot at San Diego,Calif., went aboard USS Wasp on 10 Dec., 1955. Did a West Coast cruise to the Far East, then the ship was transferred to Boston, Mass., in 1957. I was assigned to COMCARDIV-14, the Admiral's staff as a Yeoman. My twin Ben
Dimas was also on board USS Wasp and assigned to 'A' Division, as an Air-Cond and Refrigeration tech. I am retired as a Police Officer in Stockton where I was an officer for 30 years. My grand-daughter was also in the Navy, along with my son. My immediate family is an "All Navy Family". I am also a shell back, having crossed the equator with many of my ship-mates. Plus the Wasp made a good will world cruise tour between 1957 and 1959. It was a extreme pleasure to serve aboard the USS WASP, and many fond memories endure to this date.
