CECIL, "ED" HEWITT. born March 24, 1923, New Marshfield, Ohio: Enlisted in the Navy August 11, 1941, boot camp at Great Lakes, IL, assigned to U.S.S. Idaho, served in engine room on U.S.S. Idaho-BB-42, during WWII, (Oct. 1941 to October 1945). Participated in Seven major engagements from the Aleutian Islands to Okinawa. Reenlisted September 1947, attended Refrigeration & air-conditioning School, assigned to U.S. S.
