My Father was stationed at the Naval Supply 3149 Samar Island and was on both the Badoeng Strait and Jupiter Avs-8He was a gunner on the Higgins boats he entered the service near the San Francisco Area and served honorably until 1947. After the war he finished college and worked in the engineering field for most of his career he retired from Hughes helicopter in the early 1990's he suffered 2 heart attacks and had Diabetes and passed away September of 2003 at home in Roseburg. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Portland, Oregon We honored him
with a 21 gun salute, A bagpiper and the Navy honored him He was laid to rest at Willamete Cemetery in Portland.
I am very proud to be a Navy daughter and want to be very involved in continuing on for him I will never forget what he and everyone else has done for our freedom.
